The Jennifer Garner-Approved Chicken Dinner I Can’t Stop Making

Jennifer Garner’s Favorite Honey Lemon Chicken Recipe

When I think of Jennifer Garner, I can’t help but smile. She brings back memories of joyful sleepovers and those long phone chats on a landline with friends (you know what I mean!). Her movies are a delight, and it’s even better knowing she shares my passion for cooking. Discovering her go-to chicken recipe in an interview just had me excited to try it out.

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Chicken tenders 1 to 1.5 pounds
Salt To taste
Pepper To taste
Flour For coating
Paprika 1 tsp
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Oregano 1 tsp
Oil (for frying) As needed
Chicken broth 1 cup
Butter 2 tbsp
Honey 1/3 cup
Lemons 3 (juice of 2 + sliced 1)
Fresh parsley For garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Season the chicken tenders with salt and pepper.
    • In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, and oregano. Dredge the seasoned tenders in the flour mixture.
  2. Cook the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, add the tenders and cook until lightly browned (about 4-5 minutes per side).
    • Transfer the cooked tenders to a baking pan.
  3. Make the Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, add chicken broth, butter, and honey. Stir until combined and heated through.
  4. Bake:

    • Pour the sauce over and around the chicken tenders. Squeeze the juice of two lemons over the dish and place slices of the third lemon in between the tenders.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy with your favorite side dish, such as rice or roasted potatoes.

My Honest Review

This Honey Lemon Chicken is absolutely delectable! I was worried the tenders might dry out in the oven, but they remained perfectly juicy. The extra step of sautéing the chicken before baking really pays off by locking in moisture and adding flavor. The combination of sweet, savory, and tart flavors makes this dish a must-try. As Jennifer said, “it’s so flipping good!”

Enjoy!

Tips for Success:

  • Season Well: Don’t forget to season your chicken with salt and pepper before dredging in flour for maximum flavor.
  • Simplify the Coating Process: Place the flour mixture in a resealable bag, add the tenders, seal, and shake to coat.
  • Make Extra Sauce: Double the sauce ingredients to ensure you have plenty to drizzle over your meal—it’s that good!

This Honey Lemon Chicken is sure to become a favorite in your home too. Enjoy your cooking!
